Ken Fleming - Metro
Council
- District 7

|
Councilman Kenneth C. Fleming was elected
to the first Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Council in
November 2002. He is the Vice-Chairman of the Contracts
and Appointments Committee. He previously served as a
Commissioner for the City of Riverwood and was a former
Mayor and Commissioner of the City of Brownsboro Village.
As Councilman, he represents the small cities of:
Mockingbird Valley, Windy Hills, Maryhill Estates,
Bellewood, Bancroft, Richlawn, Woodlawn Park, Druid
Hills, Riverwood, Brownsboro Village, Beechwood Village,
Norwood, Graymoor-Devondale, Indian Hills, St. Matthews,
Lyndon, and Rolling Fields.
Fleming has owned and maintained several small businesses
and currently serves as a Vice-President of an aerial
surveying and geospatial firm. He is the immediate
Past-President of the Management Association for Private
Photogrammetric Surveyors (MAPPS), an aerial survey and
geo-spatial mapping association. His prior work
experience was in banking and finance, serving as a loan
officer and marketing manager.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration
from the University of Kentucky and attended Bellarmine
University’s MBA program. He is a licensed private pilot.
In 2004, he was named Public Policy Advocate of the Year
by the Louisville Chapter of the National Association of
Women Business Owners.
His civic involvement includes serving as an Elder of
Second Presbyterian Church and as an honorary board
member of the Patriots Peace Memorial. He is a former
board member of the Thomas Edison House and Kentucky
Shakespeare Festival. He has volunteered for the Metro
United Way in several capacities, is a former instructor
with Junior Achievement and has served as a volunteer for
Cabbage Patch and YMCA.
Councilman Fleming is married with two children.
