Kevin Kramer - Metro
Council - District 11

|
Councilman Kevin Kramer was elected to
the first Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Council in
November 2002. He represents the suburban cities of
Houston Acres and Jeffersontown as well as the
neighborhoods of Buechel, Klondike, Bon Air, Breckenridge
Estates, Four Seasons, Hikes Point and McMahan. In January of
2006, Councilman Kramer was elected to serve as the Metro
Council President for the 2006 year. Councilman Kramer
also serves as Vice-Chair on the National League of Cities Information,
Technology, and Communications Steering Committee. This
committee meets quarterly to discuss issues such as cable
franchise fees, telephone competition, voice over
internet protocol, broadcasting, and other issues.
Kramer currently teaches at Mercy Academy. He has also
taught at St. Gabriel, St. Edwards and St. Xavier.
Previously, he held several management positions with
Wyandot Snack Foods.
Kramer, who graduated from St. Xavier High School, holds
a bachelor’s degree in history from Bellarmine University
and a master’s degree in education from the University of
Louisville. He also holds a National Certificate of Youth
Ministry and his Kentucky Teaching Certificate. Kramer
has been active in the community for many years and has
lived in the Hikes Point community his entire life. He
has coached for the Hikes Point Optimist Club, South East
YMCA and St. Martha and has taught adult education
classes for the Louisville Community Foundation and
through the Jefferson County Public Schools.
He and his wife, Julie, have been married for 25 years;
they have two children.
