The Jefferson County Republican Party uses momentum of their event “Party for the Party” to push growing the Party in Louisville. Chairman Nathan Haney outlines this new initiative and indicates it will be an aggressive campaign to reach all of Louisville.
“We are lucky to have so many people in such close proximity to one another here in Louisville. We can reach every avenue and every corner of this city. It’s not going to be easy and we may be met with some resistance, but we want the voters to know that we are listening and we want to lead”, Haney says.
Today, in the Louisville Defender, the Jefferson County Republican Party purchased a half page advertisement. The advertisement is enclosed in this document. The Party will be hosting its monthly March meeting in Southwest Jefferson County, and will hold its monthly June meeting in West Louisville. Haney says this is just the first steps to a longer term agenda.
“We want to be a part of each community. We want to help be a stable anchor and a community leader in each neighborhood. To do this, we have to reach out and respect differences in opinion but also give the voters alternatives to what they have had in the past. We won’t win over night in some areas, but we will win trust by making sure the people know we are there and we are listening.”
The initiative includes plans to start small clubs of Republican thought and outreach throughout the city. Essentially, these will serve as incubators of ideas and understandings that will ultimately be part of a larger discourse to grow the Republican Party, win elections and better our city, state and nation.
