Louisville, Ky. – The Jefferson County Republican Party voted last week to oppose the Iran Nuclear Deal that Congress will vote on next month. Jim Stansbury, Chairman of the JCRP, made the following statement:
"Iran is led by a dangerous regime, and this agreement could threaten the peace and security of America and our allies abroad. We do not believe this agreement can achieve the ultimate goals of preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, and, in light of that, Congress must reject it. The only Iran agreement the U.S. should support is one that will confidently prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, and on that measure the current agreement fails. President Obama and his Democratic supporters in Congress, including our own Congressman John Yarmuth, should worry more about the security of our nation and less about how the UN and other international bodies want us to vote on this bad deal."
